One of the most exhilarating steps in my data engineering journey has been completing the first module of the Zoomcamp Data Engineering course. This module offered an in-depth exploration of a wide range of technologies, from Docker to Google Cloud Platform, and from Postgres to Terraform.
Achievements and Learnings from the First Module:
- Terraform and Resource Management: I learned how to automate resources on Google Cloud Platform, marking a significant step in cloud infrastructure management.
- Cloud Access Permissions: Successfully established access permissions for Google Cloud, enabling seamless connectivity between my local and virtual machines.
- Secure Data Transfer: Utilized Sftp for a crucial exercise in data security, safely transferring credentials to my virtual machine.
- Database Management Expertise: Gained proficiency in database management and querying using tools like gcli, pgAdmin, and Postgres.
- Docker Integration: Performed data integration from various sources to Docker Postgres and effectively managed multiple containers with Docker Compose.
I extend my deepest gratitude to Alexey Grigorev, the founder of Zoomcamp, for making this learning journey more efficient and enjoyable. Alexey’s guidance continually enhances my knowledge and skills in this field.
